A letter to Nigeria, a country in distress.
Is this what it means to be paying for a sin that you have no idea what you did, imagine a 'wealthy man' that is not successful in what he's doing rather hes being ripped off but he's rich he just can't use his resources, that's how I describe the politicans, Nigeria a country in distress, as a catholic praying in church the priest will say prayer for our country in distress, a prayer that I've always been saying since I was about 12 years old, when I can think, write, imagine, feel life, love, this world has always been different, a country where as a young man you're required too much intellectually and you gain nothing, a place where it's an huge world where it's the survival for the fittest, a place that is like a training ground in terms of education, preparing you for the worst just like an army camp, a place where to be able to benefit you have to work towards it so that your future kids won't have to strive hard, a place where you have to work it so you can travel, leaving the weak behind to also fend for themselves, talented young men using the benefits of the dark world, internet fraud to cover their art, a place where your craft isn't enough, the high places are only for the few, 200K isn't enough to start an amazing life, oppression and poverty are here left and right, a place where most ladies are runs girls, I.E Prostitutes, their mentally is based solely on survival, taking lessons no more from their parents, but from social media, a vile way of upbringing yourself, everywhere is chaos, a country where banditry is a legal business, kidnapping my student's at FGC yauri, killing my boys, sacrificing their blood, a land so thirsty for blood it spills on a daily basis, I sit relax look up in the sky or the ceiling, I ask myself what is the way forward, its actually a serious question because rather can going forward we're going backwards, nothing is moving slow development for a country so rich and wealthy in many natural resources. Nigeria my country, a place where even the writer is thinking about leaving this godforsaken place for greener pastures for his own generation, and still hoping for something meaningful even though what the country is offering him is just a place to stay, live, you can't even think freely because your mentality is naturally vile, your only thinking is how you can benefit from resources run by selfish, power hungry old men and their godson, turning politics into godfatherism, where you can still have power but using a vessel as a replacement.
FGC Yauri, look at students you taught as teacher hoping you'll impact knowledge on them, look at them scampering about |
Imagine these are students that you taught, people who looked up to you |
Nigeria my country in bondage, trying to break free, but will it? A country bleeding, a country where you are not allowed to protest for your right but you can also be as lawless as you want, following the law means you can get shot, abused or harrassed, ask the survivors of the endsars protests at lekki toll gate, where the Nigerian army are blindly led by controlled military head officer's and 'powerful officers.
sometimes I can imagine what is going on in their head doing such an abominable act, an act so heartless even the heartless show have grown some conscience, its crazy how the army are worked as slaves, the most interesting thing is how they follow their orders, using the clarions call as an excuse for a must in their patriotism, sigh I feel for them, carrying out heartless tasks, risking their lives, to go fight sponsored terrorism, terrorists so strong they have crazy armory, wiping them out, the excuse they give to the citizens, ' we tried to protect you' in the case of the FGC yauri abduction, the fact that 350 bandits can each have an artillery weapon is so overwhelming, the soldiers never stood a chance, the dead soldier, just died for nothing, there is no hero's burial, they haven't even released his dead body yet, I read in the news, he's brother said, that's just sad a whole family so committed to a nation that doesn't deserve its soldiers, a whole family already committed to Nigeria, I've never seen such, I never knew such existed, a country where only the elites eat like gluttons, pigs, we the masses only eat the crumbs, left survive like a chick that that the mother neglected, the dead soldier in kebbi will never be compensated so are all the other soldiers that died during the war with terrorists.

Is there hope for Nigeria, the answer that we're meant to say is yes, but we all know the truth deep down, since 1960 Nigeria has been in shambles, we wanna separate we wanna scatter, to be honest is that really the solution, in my mind I tell myself won't the same thing happen all over? corruption, embezzlement won't it still prevail well it's a discussion for the future and an unanswerable question on my mind, we wanna see how far Nigeria will go as a nation.
I as a Nigerian do have a better hope for the future, I want to impact more knowledge on this nation, I wanna do more to impact for a prosperous country, its every Nigerians imagination for our country to be reformed, where a middle class citizen actually has a good source of life, that future is actually one that has to he planned be caution a plan that could take more than 40 years, but I do have hope for Nigeria because a generation has to ignite that spark even if we do nothing, we can ignite a spark that will change the world.
